After each battle, acquired items, weapons, and armor can be traded for more powerful equipment from local shops and vendors. New to the series is a "dark court" system that judges the partys actions on the battlefield, with rewards given to those who go out of their way to be evil. The storyline finds protagonist Adell trying to reverse a magical curse that has transformed his friends into demons.
